Hatha Yoga and Hatha Flow

Do you want to practice yoga in Tenerife South? Come and join me and start your days with a balanced body and a balanced mind.

All levels, ages and abilities are welcome. Classes are open level, from beginers to advanced practitioners. The atmosphere is encouraging and supportive.

The word «yoga» means «union«, union between body, mind and spirit. Yoga is a discipline or science that works the physical and energetic body to acquire control of the mind.

«Hatha yoga» means the yoga of the sun and the moon. Its principle is to unify and balance the solar and lunar energies of the yoga practitioner: right and left side of the body, ying and yang, feminine and male, etc.

The classes consist in a slow paced practice of hatha yoga flow focused on the correct alignment of the body during the postures and the coordination between body and breath while entering, holding and leaving the posture. Variations for each asana are tauch in order to adapt the practice to the level, need and physical condition of each practitioner. Pranayama and meditation also can be explored during the classes. Participants are always invited to request poses or ask for help at any time.

Through the practice of asanas (yoga postures), pranayamas (breathing techniques), meditation and relaxation, hatha yoga brings physical mental and emotional balance to the body, makes the body healthier, improves the function of our internal organs and systems, increases flexibility and builts strength, supports joint health and prevents back pain, increases self-conficende, brings calm, peace, harmony and well-being to the practitioner reducing any kind of physical and mental stress.

This classes are about connection, connection with others and with yourself. You are simply encouraged to be yourself, and to be in the present moment, with your mind and your heart.

Every class finishes with a final guided relaxation with music or, integrating the use of the amazing Tibetan Singing Bowls. The magical sound and vibration of singing bowls will help you to internalize the practice to a greater degree, to draw you deeper inside, to achieve calmer state of mind, and to balance the energy centers creating harmony between them. 

You will feel energized and empowered, as your body, mind and spirit are harmonized.


Yoga classes in Playa Paraiso (Adeje) – Dzamling Gar 

Dzamling Gar is not just a normal yoga studio. It is a magical place;  surrounded by beautiful gardens, trees, houses and rooms of wood and stone; a retreat center full of peace and tranquility that you can feel as soon as you walk through the door.

Every monday or wednesday evenning (it depends on the week) we will practice the Hatha Yoga Fundation Sequence. This sequence is designed to maximize the benefits attained from each session of this practice (once in a week). The series start with the classical Surya Namaskar or the «Sun Salutations» and continues with a set of asanas including standing and balancing poses, forward bends, back bends, twists and inversions.

The regular practice of the Foundation Sequence improves strengh, balance and overall flexibility.

Yoga classes on the beach

There is nothing like doing yoga on the beach, in connection with the nature around you. The effects of yoga on your body, mind and soul are hugely amplified.

The yoga practice is hold on a concrete platform that is located above the sea on the Ajabo beach, in Callao Salvaje (Adeje).

Benefits of practicing yoga on the beach:

  • It relaxes more deeply while listening the sound of the waves and feeling the smell of the sea (saltwater); doing yoga near the presence of water, and especially near the sea, promotes a mindful state and inner peace and reduces your stress levels;
  • you will get grounded on the concret platform, increasing your energy and connection with the earth;
  • You will breath more fresh air and will get more oxigen from the air; that means that your lungs will be cleaned and your energy level increased. The air by the sea is even better because the high levels of iodine and ozone in it. Sea air stimulates your inmune system and improves your metabolism
  •  Yoga under the sun, specially in the morning, will give you a good amount of Vitamin D, that is very important  for your body: it helps to keep your bones, teeth and muscles healthy as it is needed to absorb calcium, supports your inmune system and mervous system and prevents depresion.
